Rheinmetall to supply Ukraine with another 180,000 rounds of ammunition for Gepard systems

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has ordered additional 35mm ammunition for the Gepard anti-aircraft system from the German defence concern Rheinmetall.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the press service of the concern.

It is about 180,000 HEI-T ammunition (high-explosive fragmentation with a tracer charge), the order was booked in December 2024.

The order will be financed by Germany. The cost is not disclosed, but it is said to be in the double-digit millions of euros.

The ammunition can be used to effectively combat various aerial targets, including UAVs.

They will be manufactured at the Rheinmetall plant in Unterlüs.
