Due to war, the Russian economy lost between 1.5 and 1.7 million able-bodied citizens

In 2025, the labor market in the Russian Federation is expected to experience an increase in the shortage of personnel. The reason is the continuation of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Because of the war, the Russian economy has already lost 1.5 to 1.7 million able-bodied citizens.

This was reported by the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, Censor.NET reports.

The forecast for the development of the situation on the labor market in the Russian Federation in the long term is also negative - by 2045, the employment market in Russia will be reduced by 7-10 million people from the current 76 million employed citizens.

According to the FIS the deterioration of the labor market situation leads to deepening stagflationary processes in the Russian economy - an increase in inflation due to rising wages, lower production levels, and bankruptcies of a number of enterprises.

The shortage of working-age population in the Russian Federation is also one of the factors that keep the Russian authorities from announcing a new wave of mobilization.
