Biden says he could beat Trump in election

The current US President Joe Biden believes that he could have defeated Donald Trump if he had stayed in the race for the White House.
He said this in an interview with USA Today, Censor.NET reports citing Yevropeiska Pravda.
"That's presumptuous, but I think so," Biden said when asked whether he could defeat Trump, who has once again become his rival.
Biden noted that his confidence was based on the opinion polls he had read.
At the same time, when asked whether he would have the strength for the next four years of his presidency, Biden was less confident: "I don't know."
What preceded it?
Earlier, after Biden's disastrous debate with Trump in the summer of 2024, the president's associates began calling on him to withdraw his candidacy from the election. At first, Biden categorically rejected this possibility, but later announced the end of his participation in the campaign.
He was replaced by Vice President Kamala Harris, who became the Democratic candidate. However, she lost the November election to Donald Trump, who regained the presidency.
As a reminder, on November 6, the results of the national vote in the US were counted. Donald Trump gained a majority, securing 277 electoral votes out of the required 270.
