Ukraine wants to produce record number of drones this year - Zelenskyy

Zelenskyy talks about Ukrainian drones at Ramstein

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced plans to produce a record number of drones in 2025.

He said this at a meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine in the Ramstein format, Censor.NET reports.

"Yesterday I held a special meeting of the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. The focus was on the production and supply of drones for our soldiers and army, as well as electronic warfare systems. Drones are something that has already changed the nature of warfare. The changes are far from over. To stop the enemy's advance, to stop the loss of people and territory - we need drones. Drones restrain the enemy, keep him at a distance. This can be done," the President explained.

According to Zelenskyy, drone production in Ukraine is more cost-effective than anywhere else.

"This year in Ukraine we want to set a record in the number and quality of drones we produce and receive from our partners. We are focusing on the drones our brigades need to hold the front line. Drones that are essential for security, including maritime drones, drones for long-range strikes on military targets and infrastructure in enemy territory. We have already signed a significant number of contracts and are still working on many more," the head of state added.

Zelenskyy called on all those present to become even more involved in building up the arsenal of drones.

"Ukrainians have the most experience in Europe in the use of drones. We also have the largest drone production capacity in Europe. Therefore, invest more in this Ukrainian strength, because after the war it will also become your strength," the President summarized.
