Ukraine is doing everything to end war this year with dignity, - Zelenskyy

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about Ukraine's desire to end the war with dignity this year.
He said this at a meeting of the Contact Group on Defence of Ukraine in the "Ramstein" format, Censor.NET reports.
"I am doing everything possible to ensure that this year this war ends with dignity for Ukraine and the whole of Europe. And I know that I can count on your support. We must all remember that ending the war is our common goal - ours, not Russia's, and this is what Ukrainians, Europeans, Americans and many of our global partners want," Zelenskyy said.
He stressed that countries like Japan, Saudi Arabia and Argentina also want peace for Ukraine. However, according to Zelenskyy, Vladimir Putin continues to invest in aggression, in particular at the expense of North Korea.
"They don't value their people, they are losing them - 4,000 today. But Pyongyang is gaining cheap experience to re-export the war, perhaps in the Indo-Pacific region," the Ukrainian president said.
Zelenskyy believes that the cooperation between Russia and the DPRK shows Putin's weakness. "No ruler in Moscow would ever stoop to begging in Pyongyang unless he faced critical problems. That is why we must continue to put pressure on Russia. This is what guarantees that our soldiers will receive the necessary weapons," he stressed.
The President of Ukraine also called on international partners, in particular the US and the EU, to strengthen sanctions against Russia, especially in the energy sector. "If we want to stop the killings, we have to cut off Putin's money flow. Putin will start thinking about peace only when his inner circle tells him that he has run out of money," Zelenskyy said, noting that sanctions should affect all elements of the Russian energy sector and stop the Russian tanker fleet.
As a reminder, on Thursday, 9 January, Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived at the "Ramstein" meeting in Germany.
