Germany contributed 16% of all aid to Ukraine, - Zelenskyy

Zelenskyy on Ukraine’s desire to do everything to end war with dignity this year

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Germany has become one of Ukraine's largest partners in providing assistance, and its contribution to the total amount of aid is about 16%.

This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a meeting with German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.

"In general, Germany has helped Ukraine, its contribution is about 16% of all the assistance received by Ukraine. 16% is a very serious figure, we are especially grateful for the fact that in difficult moments of protecting the sky, blackouts, Germany has probably made one of the largest protections of the Ukrainian sky, the construction of the latest Ukrainian air defense system," Zelenskyy said.

The President also emphasized the importance of this assistance at critical moments, in particular during periods of blackouts and active hostilities, when Germany became a key partner in providing Ukraine with air defense systems, in particular the Patriot and Iris systems.

He also thanked for Gepard air defense systems, which play a key role in protecting the country's critical infrastructure, especially energy facilities. Zelenskyy emphasized the need to expand production of these systems to meet the growing needs of Ukrainian defense.

"This is so important, and they protect our critical infrastructure, including the energy grid, very strongly," the president emphasized.

In addition, the President expressed gratitude to Germany for its leadership in the work of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine (Ramstein format), where defense assistance is coordinated together with the United States. "We are grateful for this alliance of defense ministers, where everything is resolved on a monthly basis and quite quickly, and we will have relevant meetings in February," he added.
