Ukraine has already received 80% of the promised ammunition under Czech initiative

Ukraine has already received 80% of the ammunition promised under the initiative of Czechia.

This was stated by Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha in an interview with Yevropeiska Pravda, Censor.NET reports.

According to him, the Czech initiative proved to be very useful for Ukraine.

We have managed to deliver up to 80% of the promised supplies to Ukraine. The Czech side has fulfilled its promise and delivered 520,000 155 mm shells and a large number of other calibers by the end of 2024. But I have been confirmed that all the promised shells of various calibers have been purchased," Sybiha said.

According to him, they are now finalizing their delivery to Ukraine.

"But it should also be remembered that the purchase also depends on donor funds - Czechia is raising funds from our partners, and assistance in this, working with capitals, is one of the tasks of Ukrainian diplomacy. Because there were certain countries that promised a certain amount of money, but never paid it," Sybiha added.

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine has already received the promised one million pieces of ammunition from the European Union.

By the end of 2024, Czechia promised to supply Ukraine with 500,000 artillery shells as part of the Czech initiative.
