Ukraine is ready to discuss joint production of air defense systems and interceptors with France - Defense Ministry
Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Serhii Boiev discussed with the Special Envoy of the French President Pierre Elbrun the possibility of industrial cooperation in the defense industry, in particular in the production of air defense systems and interceptors for them.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Censor.NET reports.
"Ukrainian production facilities need additional funding to fully utilize their capacities. We produce shells, artillery systems and long-range drones. But air defense remains an important need - we are ready to discuss options for the joint production of air defense systems and interceptors for them," Boiev said.
He also emphasized that Ukraine has significant capacities in the production of shells, artillery systems and drones, but cooperation with France in air defense will ensure the stable development of defense capabilities in the long term.
Boiev added that France is a leader in air and missile defense, and strategic cooperation in these areas will help strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities both now and in the future.
As a reminder, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron are discussing sending British and French soldiers to Ukraine as peacekeeping forces after any potential agreement to end the war.
