Russian Federation attacked Ukraine with 4 "Iskanders" and 131 "Shaheds": 72 drones destroyed, 59 more lost locally - Air Force
On the night of 21 January 2025, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with 131 "Shahed" strike UAVs and various types of imitation drones, and used 4 "Iskander-M" ballistic missiles from the Voronezh region.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the press centre of the Air Force Command.
As noted, the air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defence Forces of Ukraine.
What did our air defence manage to destroy?
According to the Air Force, as of 09:00, 72 "Shahed" attack UAVs and other types of drones were confirmed downed in Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, and Rivne regions.
59 enemy imitator drones were lost in the area (without any negative consequences).
Consequences of the attack
In Poltava and Cherkasy regions, institutions, outbuildings and private houses were damaged. Special services are eliminating the consequences, with no casualties reported.
As reported, on the evening of 20 January, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with strike drones. It was also noted that the enemy struck Kremenchuk: residential buildings, cars, and outbuildings were damaged.
As a reminder, on the morning of 21 January, explosions were heard in Dnipro and the Synelnykivskyi district.
