Ukraine is not in strongest position, but it will not lose, - Sybiha

Sybiha says Ukraine’s position is not strongest

Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha believes that the concept of peace through strength should be implemented.

He said this at the panel discussion Ukraine: The Road Ahead on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Censor.NET reports with reference to Interfax-Ukraine.

"We appreciate any help, any support from our allies. European and Ukrainian security are inseparable. It is important to understand this. I would also like to draw attention to one very important point. Ukraine will not lose," the Foreign Minister explained.

Sybiha reminded that February will mark three years of full-scale Russian aggression.

"Yes, perhaps at that stage we should have expected more decisive solutions. And we probably should not have been in the situation we are in now. Yes, we are not in the strongest position now. This is true. That is why it is so important to implement this concept - peace through strength," the minister continued.

The Foreign Minister stressed that Ukraine has a clear understanding of this concept and its elements, "which could strengthen our position right now". The outcome of the war will form a new global security order, "and it will be a very unstable and dangerous world if Russia is rewarded for its aggression".

"It is inappropriate to put Russia, the aggressor, in the same dimension as Ukraine, which is fighting for its independence. On the contrary, if this war ends in a fair way, with respect for Ukraine's sovereignty, territorial integrity and security, the world will be safer. Therefore, it is also very important not to manipulate the meaning of the term ‘peace’, only a comprehensive, lasting peace," the minister concluded.
