Russian troops trying to surround Pokrovsk in small groups from west, - OSGT "Khortytsia"

Russian troops are currently attacking in small groups near Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, and are trying to force our soldiers to leave the city.
This was stated on television by the spokesman for the "Khortytsia" Operational and Strategic Group of Troops, Viktor Trehubov, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.
"The intensity of the attacks has not decreased there, on the contrary, the Pokrovsk direction accounts for almost half of the clashes on the frontline in general, not only in our area of responsibility. The situation is as follows: there is a large number of small-scale clashes near Pokrovsk, because the Russians are trying to enter and surround Pokrovsk from the west in small groups. There are many, many clashes there," Trehubov said.
He also noted that during the attacks, the enemy does not ‘go head-on’ but tries to cover the city, pushing the Ukrainian military out and forcing them to retreat from it.
"For the first time, they started to fight scientifically, for the first time they started to fight not just with frontal waves, but with attempts to cover, with attempts to go around a large city and force Ukrainian forces to leave it. This is exactly what we see near Pokrovsk," the spokesman said.
According to Trehubov, the Russian command is trying to avoid urban battles, during which the enemy loses a large number of human resources. The OSGT "Khortytsia" stressed that the Russians are trying to outflank and surround Pokrovsk.
As of 25 January, 10,000 people remain in the Pokrovsk community, and 7,000 in Pokrovsk itself. All children in the community were evacuated.
