At a Council meeting in Brussels, EU foreign ministers decided to extend sanctions against Russia in response to its aggression against Ukraine.

This was reported by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, on the X network, Censor.NET reports.

"Europe is achieving results: EU foreign ministers have just agreed to extend sanctions against Russia. This will continue to deprive Moscow of revenue to finance its war. Russia must pay for the damage they cause," Kaja Kallas wrote.

Also, during his speech at the EU Foreign Affairs Council, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha noted that strengthening sanctions against Russia is necessary.

"The current sanctions should be extended, and the 16th package should be adopted soon and be strong. The US position on sanctions is clear. The EU must also act decisively," Sybiha wrote on the social network X.

According to him, he has already informed his EU colleagues about the current combat situation and the needs of Ukrainian defenders. Sybiha also added that Ukraine and the EU are ready to expand defense cooperation and investment.
