EU Foreign Ministers agree to ease sanctions against Syria

Foreign ministers of the European Union agreed to ease sanctions against Syria after the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime.
This was stated by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, Censor.NET reports citing European Pravda.
She noted that the situation in the Middle East was an important part of the agenda of today's ministerial meeting.
"We have reached a political agreement to ease sanctions against Syria. This can give a boost to the Syrian economy and help the country get back on its feet. While we want to move quickly in this direction, we are also ready to change course if the situation deteriorates," Kallas said.
According to her, in parallel, the EU is increasing humanitarian aid and reconstruction efforts in Syria.
