Russians tried to surround Ukrainian defenders in Velyka Novosilka, but failed - 110th SMB
The Russian invaders wanted to surround the positions of the Defense Forces in Velyka Novosilka, but their plan failed.
Ivan Siekach, the head of the public relations service of the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Major General Marko Bezruchko, told this in a commentary to Donbas Realii (Radio Liberty project), Censor.NET reports.
"In general, the enemy's tactical plan was to make such a cauldron, that is, to surround our defense forces in Velyka Novosilka. That is, his first plan was to strike from Novyi Komar, the upper part, and then come out from the bottom to the left of Neskuchne, that is, to surround the village completely. Thanks to the skillful tactical actions of our defenders, this plan failed and the Russians were forced to go head-on to Velyka Novosilka," said the spokesman.
According to Siekach, the Russians "began to enter from the bottom and right from Velyka Novosilka, and there was a small situation with the encirclement of our units in Velyka Novosilka. And then it was decided to withdraw to the northern part of Velyka Novosilka in order not to lose people."
.A spokesman for the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade said that "the situation in this area is difficult, rivers do not allow for the normal supply of ammunition, reinforcements and food." According to him, in recent weeks "we have been using air delivery of ammunition and food."
He also said that most of Novosilka is currently under the control of the enemy.
The spokesman noted that the Russian military is in a "firebomb" in Novosilka.
"We constantly see them, where they are hiding, and we are gradually knocking them out with artillery and FPV," said Siekach.
