US to OSCE: Putin better start peace talks. Situation for Russia will only get worse

The United States of America is ready to increase sanctions pressure on Russia if it does not enter into peace talks.
This was stated by the US Chargé d'Affaires to the OSCE Katherine Brooker, Censor.NET reports with reference to Ukrinform.
"As President Trump said, Russia's war against Ukraine must end. The smartest move for President Putin would be to start negotiations to end the conflict now because the situation for Russia will only get worse. If this does not happen, the United States is ready to increase pressure on Russia through sanctions, tariffs, and other measures," she emphasized.
Brooker noted that the war unleashed by Russia has become a disaster not only for the Ukrainian people but also "for the Russian people, who are forced to suffer the consequences of the Kremlin's mistakes."
"The war unleashed by Russia has caused large-scale destruction in Ukraine. And the longer the war drags on, the worse it is for Russia. The war has weakened Russia and its people. The Russian economy is in decline, and Moscow is losing nearly 1,500 soldiers every day," she explained.
According to Brooker, the United States will do "everything possible to help bring the war to a sustainable end in a sustainable way."
"In a way that ensures the security of Ukraine and our partners in the region, that stops the killing, the death, and the destruction. We do not want to see an imperfect settlement that will lead to a new war in two, three, or four years. The Russian war must stop, and it must stop now," she concluded.
