Excluding Ukraine from US-Russia talks would be "very dangerous" - Zelenskyy

Zelenskyy commented on possible talks between US and Russia

Negotiations between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin on a war without Ukraine's participation are extremely dangerous.

According to Censor.NET, this was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an exclusive interview with the Associated Press.

"Russia does not want to participate in ceasefire negotiations or discuss any concessions that the Kremlin interprets as a loss at a time when its troops have an advantage on the battlefield," Zelenskyy said.

He added that Trump could bring Putin to the negotiating table by threatening sanctions aimed at Russia's energy and banking systems, as well as continued support for the Ukrainian military.

"I think these are the closest and most important steps," he said in an interview.

According to Zelenskyy, the United States and Russia can have relations with each other, "but talking about Ukraine without us is dangerous for everyone." He believes that he should be the first to talk to the American president, and only then should he move on to contact with the Russians.

"And I would like to see the United States, Ukraine, and the Russians at the negotiating table... And, frankly, the voice of the European Union should also be present. I think it would be fair and effective. But how will it work? I don't know," he said.

To recap, US President Donald Trump announced that he is preparing talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin that may relate to ending the war in Ukraine.
