Killing soldiers behind the lines is a red line that cannot be crossed.
This was emphasized by the commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the OSGT "Khortytsia" Mykhailo Drapaty, Censor.NET reports.
"We have no right to watch in silence the growing wave of contempt for Ukraine's defenders - this is beyond what can be tolerated.
Everything does not happen suddenly. We have already seen cases of humiliation and aggression against our defenders, but I have not seen a strong public reaction to this. Now we have direct armed attacks. This is how the enemy acts. He is working with us and among us while we are looking at who liked what," he emphasizes.
According to Drapatyi, there is no justification for the murder of a serviceman and the attack on the TCRSS. A swift and harsh reaction from the authorities is the only possible response in a situation of arbitrariness against the military.
"Without fair punishment for the murderers, gloaters, and traitors, we will get even more of our brothers killed in the rear. In other cities. In other neighborhoods. At petrol stations, in supermarkets, in entrances, on the streets we call the names of the Heroes.
If society digests these attacks, the bad symptoms will become a diagnosis. I want to believe that at the point where we are now, this is not possible. Because the only thing that separates us from the enemy is the Ukrainian Defence Forces, the Armed Forces. While we are losing our best people at the front, we must not lose our conscience in the rear.
Disregarding for a person in a pixel begins where dignity ends. We must respect those who have taken up arms and are defending our cities, the people in them, the borders, the sky and the earth, our state, our flag, our home at the cost of their lives," he concludes.
Earlier, Censor.NET reported that on 1 February 2025, a serviceman of the TCRSS, who was accompanying the mobilize, was shot dead at a petrol station in Pyriatyn. The attacker was later detained.
