Situation at front is complicated. Among our priorities is operation in Kursk region and defeat of military facilities deep into Russian Federation, - Syrskyi

Syrskyi in Pokrovskyi direction

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi held an important meeting on the results of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the first month of 2025.

Syrskyi wrote about this on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

"The situation is difficult, but we are fighting back with dignity. We continue to effectively destroy the enemy's military targets in order to reduce its strike potential.

We are destroying the enemy both on the territory of Ukraine and in russia. Our priorities include the operation in the Kursk region and the destruction of military targets deep in the aggressor country," he said.

According to Syrskyi, the Defence Forces are currently focusing their efforts primarily on steadily holding the borders and preventing the enemy from advancing, enhancing training and building up the unmanned component.

"We continue to develop formations and units of the Land Forces, Air Assault Forces, Marines, and Unmanned Systems Forces by increasing the number of unmanned systems in their composition.

"On the ground, we are first of all supplying personnel and equipment to those units that are already defending the frontline. At the same time, we are taking measures to relocate and second servicemen from non-combat to combat military units," he added.

Syrskyi also emphasised the need to improve recruitment and strengthen the psychological resilience of soldiers.

"Adaptation measures for newcomers arriving from training centres should be carried out before they are engaged in combat missions. After all, the stability of the army depends on how we prepare and train people.

In January, we were able to slightly increase the number of units that are being withdrawn to restore combat capability. We have plans for the next period. We take into account the challenges of the times and work to strengthen the army even in the current difficult conditions. The reform of the organisational structure of the Armed Forces is ongoing. We have started implementing measures to transition to a corps structure," he adds.

The Commander-in-Chief also predicts that February will be difficult for our troops, but the enemy will also have a hard time.

"I have assigned tasks to the relevant commands and military management bodies. The enemy is not reducing the intensity of its attacks, and it is against this background that our tasks will be carried out," he concludes.
