About 70% of weapons and equipment at front are international aid - Ministry of Defense

Most of the weapons and military equipment used at the front are donated by Ukraine's international partners.
This was stated by First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Ivan Havryliuk in an interview with Ukrinform, Censor.NET reports.
"There is a concept of full need for maximum intensity combat operations. There is also the concept of the minimum required need for, for example, defensive actions. The full requirement has never been met. Approximately 70 percent of what was used on the battlefield by the Defense Forces is international military assistance. And now we need help from our partners, especially in the supply of those types of weapons that we do not produce ourselves or produce in insufficient quantities," he said.
First of all, we are talking about air defense systems, heavy armored vehicles, ammunition of NATO caliber, etc.
Havryliuk added that the production of Ukrainian weapons and equipment is currently being increased, and new models of weapons and equipment are being mastered.
"The state order is increasingly focused on domestic producers. For example, last year, almost 2/3 of the contracts for the purchase of weapons and military equipment for the Armed Forces were signed with Ukrainian gunsmiths. We have managed to reduce our dependence on imports, for example, of special armored vehicles, and Ukraine is approaching self-sufficiency in the production of drones," the Deputy Defense Minister summarized.
Earlier, President Zelenskyy said that currently, 40% of the weapons and equipment used at the front in Ukraine are of Ukrainian production, while the US contribution to Ukraine's defense capability is 30%.
