Ukraine is preparing an initiative to attract young people aged 18 to 24 to the army. It is a special one-year contract for those who want to join.

The head of state said this in an interview with Reuters, Censor.NET reports.

"Experienced combat brigades, together with the Ministry of Defense, are working on a contract option for young people aged 18 to 24. This is for those who want to join; it is not mobilization," the head of state emphasized.

Zelenskyy noted that a special contract is currently being developed, which will offer numerous benefits, as well as high financial compensation.

He added that further details will be made public 'in the coming days'."

Earlier, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Pavlo Palisa said that Ukraine is exploring new ways to attract people to the army, as the current conscription system, inherited from the Soviet era, is slowing down progress.
