Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy

U.S. President Donald Trump said he wants to conclude a $500 million deal with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on access to rare earth resources and natural gas in Ukraine in exchange for security guarantees in any potential peace settlement.

Trump said this in an exclusive interview with The Post on board Air Force One, Censor.NET reports citing The New York Post.

According to the publication, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz was present on the plane, and Trump said that it was necessary to continue meetings to end the war in Ukraine, as "young, beautiful soldiers are being killed every day" along the front line on both sides.

Trump believes that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin "cares" about the killings on the battlefield.

It is noted that Vice President Vance will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the Munich Security Conference next week.

To recap, US President Donald Trump had a phone conversation with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to try to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine.

Trump's proposal for rare earth resources in Ukraine

Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that he was trying to find a way to exchange Ukraine's rare earth metals for American aid.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Kyiv is not offering to simply transfer its rare earth resources to the United States, but rather seeks to build a mutually beneficial partnership for their joint use in Ukraine.

On February 7, U.S. President Donald Trump said he was likely to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy next week. Zelenskyy later announced talks with Trump's team.
