Ministry of Defence on plans for 2025: Focus on new missiles and missile defence system

The Ministry of Defence has called the use of long-range weapons one of the key elements in reducing Russia's military potential.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the ministry's press service.
"The destruction of logistics chains and military facilities in russia's deep rear, the destruction of manpower and equipment are made possible by missiles, barrage of aerial bombs and deep strikes. In addition, an effective missile defence system is being created to protect Ukrainian cities from enemy shelling," they said.
The Ministry of Defence stressed that in 2024, investments in the defence sector brought concrete results. Thus, the mass production of cruise missiles was expanded and new ballistic and cruise missiles with a longer range were tested. Work is currently underway to supply jointly produced air defence systems from Ukrainian and foreign companies.
Also, the development and production of long-range weapons remains the focus of the Ministry of Defence in 2025:
- Ballistic and cruise missiles, which should become a deterrent factor for the aggressor country;
- Components of the Missile Defence System (MDS) that will be able to effectively protect peaceful Ukrainian cities from enemy attacks;
- A domestic missile defence system whose characteristics will match the best foreign analogues;
- Control systems for anti-aircraft missile systems.
"In particular, negotiations are underway with partners to obtain foreign-made systems, and modern Ukrainian missile defence systems are being developed together with Western companies," they concluded.
