Lubinets to OSCE: Over 1.5 million Ukrainian children are under occupation and under threat of deportation and forced displacement

Lubinets called on OSCE to help return children

Ukrainian Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets addressed the OSCE participating states and called on them to take measures to return the Ukrainian children abducted by Russia.

According to Censor.NET, Lubinets said this in his telegram channel.

"I had the honor to address the OSCE participating States at a thematic meeting of the OSCE Security Committee chaired by the United Kingdom. The topic of my speech was the protection of children's rights in the context of Russian aggression, with a special emphasis on the return of children from the TOT and the Russian Federation," the Ombudsman said.

He also named the key points of his speech:

  • The Russian Federation disregards all norms of international law, and innocent Ukrainian children suffer from this. Currently, more than 1.5 million children are under occupation under the threat of deportation and forced displacement.
  • The physical displacement of children is not the goal of the occupiers. The goal is to scale the chain of changes aimed at assimilating, destroying the identity, and indoctrinating Ukrainian children.
  • Ukraine is working to return minors and ensure that their rights are respected in the future. In particular, the Center for the Protection of Children's Rights in Kyiv is functioning for this purpose.

"Called on the OSCE to become a platform for discussing the return of Ukrainian children from deportation and creating additional measures of pressure on Russia!

Together, we must achieve the return of our children and ensure their safe future!" Lubinets emphasized.
