Agreement on mineral resources with US will be signed, - Stefanishyna

Minerals agreement with US to be signed

Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration and Minister of Justice Olha Stefanishyna said that Ukraine had not rejected the US-proposed minerals deal.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to The Guardian.

It is currently under discussion.

"We expect that it will be signed," Stefanishyna added.

As reported earlier, White House National Security Council spokesman Brian Hughes said the decision of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy not to sign the proposed agreement on granting the US access to rare earth minerals in Ukraine was ‘short-sighted’.

Earlier, President Zelensky said that the agreement with the US on minerals would be signed at the ministerial level when it is ready and subject to guarantees. Currently, this document is not ready to protect Ukraine's interest.
