French Prime Minister François Bayrou is concerned about signs of an alliance between US leader Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin..

According to him, the meeting at the Elysee Museum with several European leaders to discuss the situation in Ukraine and security on the continent the day before ‘did not dispel’ fears.
Bayrou believes that ‘for the first time since 1945, war could come to European soil’.
"We are in the context of the 1930s, when icebergs are coming towards us, and the Paris meeting at the Elysee Palace did not allow them to push back. ... We are witnessing an incredible alliance between Putin and Trump that marginalises Europe on its own territory," the French prime minister added.
"It is terrible to see the weakness of the European Union in this matter," he concluded.
Emergency summit in Paris
As a reminder, Macron has called a meeting of European leaders to discuss the situation in Ukraine. The meeting will be attended by the leaders of France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, Italy, Spain and Denmark, representing the Baltic and Scandinavian countries, as well as NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
Macron spoke with Trump before the ‘Ukrainian’ summit in Paris.
He also spoke with Zelenskyy after the summit.
