US, Russia to restore staffing of embassies in Moscow and Washington, - Rubio

US and Russia to reopen embassies

The United States and Russia have agreed to restore the staff of their embassies in Washington and Moscow.

According to Censor.NET with reference to АР, this was announced by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio after a meeting of the two delegations in Riyadh.

As noted, the two sides - the United States and Russia - generally agreed to achieve three goals: restoring the staff of embassies in Washington and Moscow, creating a high-level team to negotiate peace in Ukraine, and promoting economic cooperation.

"We need to have active diplomatic missions that are able to function properly to be able to continue these contacts," Rubio said.

Embassies have also reportedly been hit hard by the expulsion of large numbers of diplomats over the years as relations have deteriorated and the United States, along with European countries, has imposed a series of sanctions on Russia.
