Russian Federation has lost more than 530,000 military personnel in year - Politico

BBC journalists named names of more than 83,000 dead Russian military personnel

According to NATO, Russia has lost more than 530,000 military personnel killed and wounded in the war against Ukraine over the past year.

This was reported by Politico, Censor.NET informs.

As noted, in just three years of fighting, the losses of the Russian army are estimated at 837 thousand people.

In addition, in January 2025, the Russian Federation fired 10,900 munitions at Ukraine, most of which were "Shahed" attack drones.

Despite this, the Ukrainian army was able to deal tangible blows to Russian oil refineries, resulting in a reduction in supplies to them by about 2.5 per cent year-on-year.

The presence of 11,000 military personnel from North Korea in the Kursk region has also been reported. While only a ‘relatively small fraction’ of them are involved in combat operations, they are showing little adaptation to Ukrainian drone attacks.

"We still see that the North Koreans rely on waves of human attacks," - said the official.

We will remind, the Ukrainian defence forces have eliminated 862 390 Russian invaders since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
