US deserves compensation from Ukraine - Waltz

Waltz on what US wants from Ukraine

US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz has spoken about ‘escalating rhetoric’ and ‘strange resistance’ from Ukraine after the presentation of the minerals agreement.

According to Censor.NET, citing Hromadske, he said this on Fox News.

According to Waltz, ‘disappointment’ arose last week (10-16 February) due to ‘strange resistance’ and ‘escalating rhetoric’ after the US had presented the minerals agreement to Ukraine.

According to US President Donald Trump's national security adviser, Washington has offered Ukraine what is an ‘absolute opportunity’.

"For the United States to invest in Ukrainian infrastructure, for them to extract their minerals, their natural resources, their oil and gas," Waltz said.

In addition to being ‘a chance for Ukraine,’ Waltz believes that the US ‘deserves to be reimbursed.’

"We look at the type of aid that the Europeans are providing, and it's often in the form of loans that are repaid from the interest on seized Russian assets. We believe that American taxpayers deserve to be reimbursed for more of their investment," the national security adviser said.

Instead, according to Waltz, the United States has received an ‘escalation of rhetoric’ and ‘resistance’ that Trump ‘is not going to tolerate.’

He also said that the ‘era of endless brutal war with death and destruction on all sides, costing hundreds of billions of dollars and hundreds of thousands if not millions of lives’ is over, even if ‘not everyone’ has accepted it yet.

"President Trump has been very clear. He intends to bring this war to an end, and that all parties must support that," Waltz stressed.

As a reminder, Waltz also said that relations between White House Chief of Staff Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy are deteriorating.
