Hungary sets new conditions for extension of EU sanctions against Russia - Reuters

Hungary wants to get eight people removed from the European Union's sanctions list against Russia before agreeing to extend sanctions restrictions.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to Reuters.
According to the publication, unnamed EU diplomats said that in addition to lifting sanctions against Russian individuals, Hungary also wants to receive new guarantees for negotiations on gas transit through Ukraine.
The diplomats refused to name the names of the individuals Hungary wants to exclude from the sanctions list due to the confidential nature of the discussions.
According to the agency, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said that Budapest "will not agree to a rush" to extend sanctions against individuals.
Szijjártó also told reporters on Monday that the European Commission had not fulfilled its previous commitment after Budapest was not invited to a meeting with Slovakia and Ukraine to negotiate the resumption of gas transit to the EU.
It is worth noting that the sanctions against more than 2,400 individuals and legal entities were extended. These restrictions are valid until March 15, and the decision to extend them must be made by March 10. This decision should be supported by all EU countries.
