Ukraine in OSCE: RF must face international pressure to stop aggression against Ukraine

Russia should be subjected to comprehensive international pressure to force it to sit down at the negotiating table and stop its aggression against Ukraine.
This was stated during a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council by Yurii Vitrenko, Permanent Representative of Ukraine to International Organizations in Vienna, Censor.NET reports citingUkrinform.
According to him, a lasting and just peace in Europe is possible only on the basis of the principles of international law, in particular the UN Charter and the Helsinki Final Act.
"This means due respect for the territorial integrity, sovereignty and political independence of Ukraine. This includes Ukraine's right to self-determination in the future. It also requires that aggression is not rewarded, but that justice is done and those responsible are brought to justice. And last but not least, this peace must be backed by strong security guarantees to deter the aggressor from future attacks," the diplomat emphasized.
Vitrenko emphasized that the war unleashed by Russia is existential for Ukrainians, as dictator Putin denies them the right to have their own state.
"Unfortunately, Russia has not learned its historical lesson. The time of empires is over. Ukrainians value democracy, human rights and freedoms above all else. This is what unites us. This is what my fellow citizens regained with the restoration of the independence of the Ukrainian state... We also know the price of losing freedom. We learned this in a Moscow concentration camp during the Soviet occupation. Therefore, by defending the borders of Ukraine, we are defending our rights," said the representative of Ukraine.
He also emphasized that repressions in Russia will increase, and its external aggression will only intensify if the world does not respond decisively.
"Without comprehensive pressure, Russia will not negotiate in good faith, but will only try to legitimize its ultimatum," Vitrenko summarized.
