Vasyl Ratushnyi, brother of famous activist Roman Ratushnyi and elder son of writer Svitlana Povaliaieva and soldier Taras Ratushnyi, died at front
On 27 February, Vasyl Ratushnyi was killed during a combat mission. He was a UAV pilot with the "Birds of Magyars".
According to Censor.NET, Svitlana Povaliaieva reported this on her Facebook page.
"On 27 February 2025, at night, during a combat mission, the pilot of the UAV 'Birds of Magyars' Vasyl Ratushnyi was killed by a direct attack from an FPV drone. My eldest son, my life," she wrote.
Vasyl Ratushnyi was a participant in the Revolution of Dignity.
As it is known, on 9 June 2022, journalist, activist, public figure and volunteer Roman Ratushnyi, the younger son of Svitlana Povaliaieva, was killed near Izium.
A street in Kyiv near Protasiv Yar, which Roman fought to protect before the full-scale invasion, is named after him.
On 23 November 2023, the Kyiv City Council voted to name the Protasiv Yar reserve after Roman Ratushnyi.
