Strengthening Ukraine’s position, peace agreement and reliable security guarantees - British government named main topics of today’s summit

At today's summit in London, the leaders of a number of European countries will discuss assistance to Ukraine and ways to ensure a lasting peace.
This is reported by Censor.NET with reference to the press center of the British government.
As noted, the summit will be attended by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as well as the leaders of France, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Canada, Finland, Sweden, the Czech Republic and Romania.
Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and European Council President Antonio Costa will also attend.
On the morning of March 2, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will greet Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Downing Street. Other leaders will follow.
The main topics of the summit are:
- Strengthening Ukraine's position now - including continued military support and increased economic pressure on Russia;
- the need for a strong, lasting agreement that ensures permanent peace in Ukraine and ensures that Ukraine can deter and defend itself against future attacks from Russia;
- next steps in planning for credible security guarantees.
"In partnership with our allies, we must step up preparations for the European element of security guarantees, along with continuing discussions with the United States. We have an opportunity to come together to secure a just and lasting peace in Ukraine that guarantees their sovereignty and security," Starmer said.
Earlier, Ukraine's Ambassador Valerii Zaluzhyi said that in the coming days London would become a platform for decisive discussions on Ukraine.
