Opposition in US Congress on Trump’s policies: Reagan is rolling in his grave after Oval Office performance - WP

The Democratic opposition in the US Congress has criticised President Donald Trump's approach to resolving the war in Ukraine, as outlined in his address to Congress.
This was stated by Senator Elissa Slotkin, Censor.NET reports citing The Washington Post..
"President Trump likes to say that peace is achieved through strength," she said. - "It's actually a phrase he borrowed from Ronald Reagan but after the spectacle that just took place in the Oval Office last week, Reagan must be rolling in his grave," Slotkin said.
She emphasised that the US has always combined military and economic power with moral principles, while Trump sees international politics as a business deal. The senator also noted that his approach is dominated by flirting with dictators, including Vladimir Putin, and putting pressure on US allies.
According to Slotkin, if Trump had been in charge of the country in the 1980s, he would have lost the Cold War because he did not believe in the exceptionalism of the American nation. She emphasised that the US must maintain global leadership, as American democracy is an example for the whole world.
