Trump administration plans to deprive 240,000 Ukrainian refugees of legal status: they may be deported - Reuters

The administration of US President Donald Trump is planning to cancel the temporary legal status of about 240,000 Ukrainians who have found themselves in the US fleeing the war. This could potentially threaten them with deportation.
According to Censor.NET, Reuters reports this with reference to a senior Trump official and three other unnamed sources.
According to the publication, the move is part of a broader effort by the White House to revoke the legal status of more than 1.8 million migrants who were allowed to enter the United States under temporary humanitarian programmes during Joe Biden's presidency.
It is expected that the decision to revoke the legal status of Ukrainians may be made as early as April.
US Department of Homeland Security spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin said the agency had no announcements to make at this time. The White House and the Ukrainian embassy did not respond to Reuters' requests.
Earlier it was reported that the Administration of US President Donald Trump had suspended consideration of all immigration applications submitted by migrants from Latin America and Ukraine who were allowed to enter during Joe Biden's presidency.
