Ukraine is fighting for Europe, so Europe will be with Ukraine – Metsola
Ukraine is fighting for Europe, and Europe needs to be together with those who are fighting for its security and values.
According to Censor.NET, this was stated by the President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola before the start of the Special European Defense Council in Brussels.
"Regarding Ukraine. The situation today is exactly the same as it was three years ago. Ukraine is fighting for Europe, and Europe needs to stand with those who are fighting for our security and our values. The security of Ukraine is the security of Europe, and today, more than ever, we stand with the President of Ukraine and say that we will stand with you. But to do this, we have to do more - deliver money where it is needed, help financially and militarily. So that we can fairly say that you are fighting for what we will fight for together," said Metsola.
According to her, today's Special European Council should address the issues that Europeans have been asking about for a long time - the ability of Europe to stand on its own two feet in defense.
Metsola emphasized that Europe needs to increase its defense capabilities, produce more defense equipment, and increase the readiness of its forces to defend itself. This is the political request to the EU from its citizens.
