DeepState on situation in Kursk region: Russia is trying to disrupt logistics of AFU, enemy has UAV advantage

Situation in the Kursk region as of 7 March 2025

Russian occupiers in the Kursk direction are attempting to physically disrupt the logistics of the Ukrainian Defence Forces.

DeepState writes about it, Censor.NET reports.

Currently, the most critical situation is on the border of Kursk and Sumy regions, where the enemy is actively trying to put pressure on the positions of the Ukrainian military, analysts said.

"Zhuravka-Novenke area. Depending on the specific section of this area, the nature of the fighting and enemy pressure varies:

- In the direction of Zhuravka, the Defence Forces manage to hold back the enemy to a certain extent, regardless of their attempts.
- Between Zhuravka and Novenke, Russian forces have made greater gains and are attempting to advance through the tree lines, crossing into Sumy region. The Ukrainian military engage them and try to prevent further advancement.
- The most difficult situation is unfolding in the Novenke area. The enemy is concentrating forces in the village and trying to advance toward Basivka, which would open the way to the Sudzha checkpoint, with the goal of blocking logistics from Yunakivka. The enemy has numerical superiority, which presents significant challenges.

The enemy is also increasing activity on the right flank of the Kursk group of the Defence Forces, near the village of Kurylivka, up to the state border with Sumy region. The objective remains the same – to establish additional control over logistics (both fire and physical control in the future)," the statement said.

DeepState also reported that Russian occupiers have an advantage in UAVs, including both reconnaissance and strike drones. Most frequently, they use FPV drones, allowing them to maintain fire control over all movements to and from the Kursk region.

"It remains unclear how this will unfold. Unfortunately, there is a recurring tendency to ‘ignore problems that eventually lead to serious consequences.’ The reason for this remains unknown. We will continue to monitor the developments. The competence and authority to make decisions rest solely with the command and no one else. The soldiers of the Defence Forces on the ground are making every effort to stop the enemy’s advance, disrupt their force buildup, and push them back," the analysts concluded.
