"Information about a massive breakthrough of the state border of Ukraine by Russian units is not true. In the vicinity of Novenke and Zhuravka in Sumy region, the enemy is still operating with subversive reconnaissance groups and small infantry groups of several people each. They are trying to gain a foothold on the territory of Ukraine to expand the combat zone, but are gradually being destroyed," the statement said.

The General Staff said that the enemy's combined sabotage and assault groups moved along a branch of the gas pipeline to gain a foothold on the outskirts of the town of Sudzha in the Kursk region. Currently, the forces of Russian special forces are being detected, blocked and destroyed.

In addition, it is emphasized that the enemy's losses in Sudzha are very high.

The General Staff also noted that heavy fighting continues in the Kursk region, the situation remains difficult, but it is under the control of the Ukrainian command.

The largest-scale assault actions by the enemy took place in the directions from Korenevo to Sudzha, as well as in the directions of Novoivanivka, Mala Loknya and south of the town of Sudzha.

It is reported that the enemy engaged the most combat-ready units from the marines (177th regiment and 810th brigade), airborne troops, Kadyrov's men from the Akhmat battalion, and the 1427th regiment in the assault. Mercenaries from the DPRK in the number of up to two battalions have also been sent into the battle.

"Our command sees the whole picture and is taking the necessary measures to strengthen the stability of defense. To stabilize the situation, the reserves of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are being deployed. Thanks to these decisions, enemy units suffered significant losses," the General Staff added.

Earlier it was reported that Russian attack aircraft had infiltrated Sudzha through a gas pipeline.
