EU envoys fail to agree on extension of individual sanctions against Russia - media

On March 10, the ambassadors of the European Union failed to reach a consensus on the extension of individual sanctions against individuals involved in Russia's war against Ukraine.
This was reported by a Suspilne correspondent, Censor.NET reports.
As noted, individual sanctions apply to persons responsible for undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. Currently, these restrictions apply to more than 2,200 individuals and legal entities. The sanctions include a travel ban, a freeze on financial assets, and a ban on the provision of financial or other economic resources.
The current sanctions expire on March 15, 2025.
Earlier, on February 24, the European Union introduced the 16th package of sanctions against Russia. It is aimed at restricting the activities of the shadow fleet, oil tanker operators, video game controllers used to control drones, banks that facilitate the circumvention of sanctions, and propaganda media.
