The delegations of Ukraine and the United States held the first round of talks in Jeddah, discussing an agreement on rare earth minerals and the ceasefire in the sky and at sea.

This was reported by a Suspilne correspondent, citing a source, Censor.NET reports.

As noted, the first round of talks lasted about four hours. The parties have now started the second round of discussions.

Earlier, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andrii Yermak, said that security guarantees from the United States are extremely important for Ukraine.

"Security guarantees are very important because we want such aggression to never happen again in the future. Now we believe that the most important thing to discuss is how to start this process. We are very open and want to have a constructive, in-depth, friendly, partnership conversation with our American partners," Yermak said.

At the same time, he refused to say what concessions Ukraine is ready to make to reach a peace agreement.
