Ministry of Defence hinders launch of NATO-calibre ammunition production - Ukrainian Armour
Excessive bureaucracy in the Ministry of Defence is hampering the launch of NATO-calibre ammunition production in Ukraine.
According to Censor.NET, this was stated by Vladyslav Belbas, CEO of "Ukrainian Armour" LLC, in the programme "Military Results of the Day".
According to him, the process of contracting NATO-calibre artillery ammunition is moving very slowly and sluggishly.
"Unfortunately, the bureaucratic system that has been created there does not allow production to develop continuously... Scaling up production and long-term contracts, increasing production volumes is not just a whim of the manufacturers, it is something that is necessary for us, because we see that there is a lack of weapons at the front," Belbas said.
In his opinion, long-term contracts and their financing are the tools that allow private manufacturers to open new production sites, increase production volumes and develop new weapons without any investment from the state.
He also noted that for "Ukrainian Armor", mastering the production of NATO-calibre artillery rounds is the main task for 2025.
As a reminder, "Ukrainian Armour" has signed an agreement with Czechoslovak Group (CSG), one of the largest defence holdings in Europe, to jointly produce NATO-calibre artillery ammunition. It is planned to produce 100,000 155 mm artillery rounds as early as 2025.
