US to talk to Russia, call for end to hostilities - Rubio

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the United States would contact Russia today and call for a cessation of hostilities.
This is reported by The Guardian, Censor.NET informs.
Rubio emphasized that there is no military solution to the conflict and called on Russia to stop hostilities.
He also confirmed that the previous day's talks in Jeddah had discussed "what the negotiation process will look like" and also discussed possible territorial concessions. Rubio emphasized the need for Ukraine to have a sufficient deterrent against future attacks.
He also emphasized the importance of involving European countries in this process. Rubio noted that although the minerals agreement will not guarantee security for Ukraine, it will give the United States a "vested interest" in the country's security.
