Meeting in Jeddah thwarts Russia’s plans to escalate relations between US and Ukraine, - Zelenskyy

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the meeting of the Ukrainian and American delegations in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) contributes to de-escalation in relations between the United States and Ukraine, countering Russia's plans.
The Head of State said this during a briefing, Censor.NET reports.
"The Russians are doing everything to quarrel Ukraine with America. You can see different results in Saudi Arabia (the results of the talks between Ukraine and the United States - ed.). Some people saw the main result in the resumption of aid, others saw the first steps towards ending the war. I believe that the meeting in Saudi Arabia itself shatters Russia's plans to fully escalate relations between the United States and Ukraine. On the contrary, there is a de-escalation, and this is how it should be between partners," Zelenskyy said.
He emphasized that such negotiations are correct, as they help maintain a common vision of the situation.
"I believe that the more our sides talk, communicate, show details, discuss each of the details, the more we will be in the same context. And in my opinion, that is why there is a corresponding result of this meeting. It took us some time to be more in contact, but this is not enough, we need more meetings, and if they are so positive, we can have the desired result," the president added.
Ukraine-US talks in Saudi Arabia
Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the teams of Ukraine and the United States had resumed work and a "meaningful meeting" could take place next week.
According to Fox News, the delegations of Ukraine and the United States will meet in Saudi Arabia on March 11.
Ukraine's Foreign Ministry believes that the meeting between the US and Ukraine in Saudi Arabia is an opportunity to sign a minerals agreement.
