During negotiations with Poland, Ukraine always raises issue of MiG-29 transfer - Sybiha

Ukraine's armed forces need Polish weapons on the battlefield, including Piorun MANPADS, Krab self-propelled artillery systems, and MiG-29 aircraft.
This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha during a conversation with journalists from several media outlets in Warsaw, Ukrinform reports, Censor.NET reports.
Sybiha noted that Ukraine's current priority is to receive air defense systems from its allies to protect Ukrainian cities from Russian air attacks.
The head of Ukrainian diplomacy said that Ukraine needs Polish Piorun MANPADS and Krab air defense systems on the battlefield. Among other things, he recalled that Poland was the country that initiated the tank coalition for the needs of the Ukrainian army.
In addition, according to Sybiha, a very important issue is the transfer of Polish MiG-29 aircraft to Ukraine. As the minister explained, it takes at least a year to train one pilot to fly an F-16. Instead, Ukraine already has trained MiG-29 pilots and this can be "a factor that can change the situation on the battlefield," Sybiha said.
"Therefore, we always raise the issue of providing Ukraine with these aircraft during negotiations with our Polish friends. We look forward to a positive resolution of this matter," the Foreign Minister said.
