Recently, a petition to give military personnel the opportunity to choose their own gear gained 25,000 votes.
This was announced on Facebook by Ukrainian military, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Pavlo Palisa, Censor.NET reports.
"In short, the idea is for the military to buy what suits them best, and for the state to compensate for it partially or fully," he explained.
According to Palisa, the State Operator For Non-Lethal Acquisition (DOT) is already working on how this could be implemented.
"There are a lot of nuances and limitations here, because on the one hand, we would like the choice to be wide, and on the other hand, the state is responsible for the quality of equipment and safety. I would like to ask you: what categories do you think should be implemented in the first place? Which of the current products would you like to replace, and with what exactly?" he asked.
