Szijjarto complained that EU supports Ukraine in protecting rights of Hungarians in Transcarpathia

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto did not like the position of EU foreign ministers on the protection of the rights of Hungarians in Ukraine.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to Telex.
According to Szijjarto, after the meeting of the EU foreign ministers, his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha described the issue of Hungarians in Transcarpathia as an artificial problem. The Hungarian foreign minister said that this was unacceptable.
He also called it scandalous that some foreign ministers supported Ukraine and said that the rights of the Transcarpathian Hungarians should be assessed by EU institutions.
Szijjártó believes that Brussels wants to "abandon the people of Zakarpattia and their rights to the mercy of the EU" in order to force Ukraine to join the EU as soon as possible.
He also recounted an alleged statement by the German foreign minister that Hungary "must decide which club it wants to belong to."
