Putin demands suspension of arms supplies to Ukraine

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has demanded that all arms supplies to Ukraine be suspended for the duration of the ceasefire.

Bloomberg writes about this, citing sources in Moscow, Censor.NET reports.

Thus, during the visit of Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff to Moscow, Putin called the cessation of arms supplies a prerequisite for signing a ceasefire agreement.

According to the newspaper, while Russia wants to stop all arms supplies to Ukraine, its minimum goal is to cut off US aid.

Sources in Russia said that the suspension of arms supplies sought by Putin would be temporary. They will resume after a peace deal is concluded, in which Ukraine must agree to limit its military capabilities.

The unnamed European official believes it is unlikely that Europe will agree to Russia's demand to block arms supplies to Ukraine by its allies during any "truce". Such an outcome could lead to a situation where Russia could rearm during the cessation of hostilities, while Ukraine would be deprived of such an opportunity.

As a reminder, on 11 March 2025, the delegations of the United States and Ukraine met in Jeddah.

The Ukrainian and US teams issued a joint statement following the meeting in Saudi Arabia: The US is resuming military assistance and will discuss the possibility of a 30-day ceasefire with Russia.

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin said that Russia had agreed to the proposals to end hostilities in Ukraine, but under certain conditions.

Trump called Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin's statement about the possibility of a 30-day ceasefire promising.
