Russia is not ready to take first step toward ceasefire despite its public statements – Zelenskyy

Despite public discussions between the Russian and American sides, Russia is not truly ready for a ceasefire in Ukraine and consistently sets additional conditions.
This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy at an online press conference, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.
"Many things have been declared publicly by the Russians, which, as I understand it, they are not really ready for a ceasefire. They reiterated on their own, on their own, what we have been saying, warning our American colleagues, that they are not ready to end this war. And we can see it. They are not even ready to take the first step towards a ceasefire. Because they will talk about some additional conditions," he emphasized.
The Head of State added that Ukraine would count on the assistance of its partners, including the exchange of intelligence.
