There is no significant grouping of Russian troops on border of Sumy region. Enemy is attempting to advance in small groups – SBGS

On the border of Sumy region with the Russian Federation near the settlements of Novenke and Zhuravka, the enemy is trying to advance in small groups of several to five people to gain a foothold in our territory and further expand the combat zone. The defense forces are successfully repelling them.
This was reported by the spokesman for the State Border Guard Service, Andrii Demchenko, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.
"The situation on the border of Sumy region with the Russian Federation near the settlements of Novenke and Zhuravka (...). The enemy is trying to expand the foothold for combat operations in these areas, and for this purpose it uses small assault groups that it sends to our territory.
First of all, the enemy wants to surround our forces in the Kursk region, where the defense forces are conducting their operation, or to cut off logistics routes," Demchenko said about the plan of the military command of the Russian forces on the air of the telethon on Wednesday.
According to him, there is no large group that is currently storming the border, these are small assault groups of several people, sometimes up to five.
"They often use ATVs. Because their task is to move as quickly and as deeply as possible into the territory of Ukraine to gain a foothold, wait for reinforcements, accumulate and expand the territory of combat operations. At the moment, the enemy is not succeeding, because our defense forces (...) are knocking out these groups, preventing them from gaining a foothold in our territory," Demchenko added.
To recap, the General Staff reported that the situation on the border of Sumy region with Kursk region of the Russian Federation is under the control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The information circulating on social media about the advance of Russian troops deep into the territory of Sumy region is not true.
