Lviv customs inspector took 4 men of military age to Poland in her car - SBI
An inspector of one of the Lviv customs posts, who organised the smuggling of four men of military age across the border, has been notified of suspicion.
This was reported by the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation, Censor.NET informs.
"In the autumn of 2023, a conscript asked the official to help him go to Poland. The inspector took him to the Krakivets-Korchova checkpoint in her own car. Before passing the border control, she placed her uniform on the rear side windows to hide the passenger. Thanks to her knowledge of the inspection procedures, the woman managed to transport her husband across the border unnoticed," the statement said.
She used the same scheme to smuggle three more conscripts.
One of the "passengers" paid USD 3,000 for the service.
Polish border guards confirmed that the woman, who allegedly left Ukraine alone, arrived in Poland with male passengers who passed border and customs control and legally entered Europe
The inspector was served a notice of suspicion of smuggling of persons across the state border (Part 1-3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 10 years.
The investigation is ongoing, all the circumstances and the full range of persons involved are being established.
