EU needs to develop mechanism that will prevent individuals from blocking important decisions – Zelenskyy

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the European Union needs to develop a mechanism that will prevent individuals from blocking decisions important for the entire continent.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to Europan Pravda.
Zelenskyy criticized the situation when "one person" can block already agreed decisions, calling it an anti-European approach. He mentioned the difficulties in opening negotiating clusters on Ukraine's accession to the EU, apparently referring to Hungary's position, which requires additional conditions.
"Ukraine has fulfilled all the requirements, but now there are serious difficulties in opening the first and other, of course, negotiating clusters on Ukraine's accession to the EU. The European efforts that should bring more security and peace are also constantly being hampered. And I think this is wrong," Zelenskyy said.
He called on Europe to find a mechanism to avoid blocking decisions that are important for the entire continent, as well as to make EU decision-making faster and more flexible.
"If we are talking about Europe's need to be stronger in global competition, we must also talk about making the European decision-making process faster, more flexible, more efficient... Europe needs speed in decision-making and clear tools to protect against unnecessary blockages," Zelenskyy said.
As a reminder, during the European Council summit in Brussels, Hungary refused to sign the section of the conclusions on Ukraine.
